Your body’s pH balance might not be something you think about every day, but maintaining an alkaline environment is vital to overall health. Why? Because when your body leans toward an acidic state, it creates the perfect environment for disease to thrive. Let’s explore the importance of pH balance and a simple step you can take to help your body maintain an alkaline state.


Why Alkaline Matters


The pH scale measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is, ranging from 0 (highly acidic) to 14 (highly alkaline), with 7 being neutral. Ideally, your blood’s pH stays slightly alkaline, around 7.35 to 7.45.


When your body’s pH dips too far into the acidic range, it can lead to inflammation, weakened immunity, and other health challenges. While your body works hard to maintain the proper pH balance, your lifestyle and dietary choices can either support or hinder this process.


The Role of Diet in pH Balance


Modern diets are often heavy in acidic foods like sugar, processed items, and animal proteins. On the other hand, alkaline foods—such as leafy greens, vegetables, and fruits—help neutralize acidity and restore balance.
