Life often feels like a race against time. We chase achievements, accumulate experiences, and relentlessly pursue goals. Yet, in the process, we forget one of life’s most profound truths: growth takes time. Rediscovering your purpose, reclaiming joy, and redefining who you are is not a sprint—it’s a journey of patience, timing, and presence.
I know this because I’ve lived it. It took me ten years to fully understand my purpose and find joy in what I do today. A decade of searching, trying, and waiting. Along the way, I learned something transformative: what you do is not who you are. Your worth isn’t tied to titles, accomplishments, or roles. It’s in the essence of your being, the values you embody, and the love you bring to the world.
The Beauty of Waiting
Waiting is uncomfortable. It’s a space where doubts creep in, and the temptation to rush the process becomes almost unbearable. But waiting is also where transformation happens. Like seeds buried in soil, we grow in the dark, unseen and often unrecognized. In these moments, the roots of our purpose deepen, and the foundation for our future selves is built.
Every detour, pause, and obstacle serves a purpose. They teach us patience, resilience, and faith. Waiting allows us to shed what no longer serves us and embrace what’s truly ours.
Embracing the Present
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is to be present in the journey. When we fixate on future outcomes, we miss the beauty of the now. The small victories, the lessons disguised as challenges, and the unexpected joys all contribute to our rediscovery.
Ask yourself: What can I learn today? How can I grow in this moment? These questions shift your focus from the destination to the path you’re walking, helping you find purpose in the process.
Timing Is Everything
The right doors open at the right time. Trusting this truth requires faith, but it’s liberating. When you stop forcing outcomes and start aligning with what feels authentic, timing becomes your ally. Opportunities that once seemed elusive will find their way to you, often when you least expect them.
For me, this realization was life-changing. I spent years trying to control every aspect of my life, only to discover that surrendering to divine timing brought clarity and peace. It’s in letting go that we truly find ourselves.
Rediscovering Who You Are
Finding purpose and joy isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you were created to be. Strip away the labels, the roles, and the expectations, and what remains is your authentic self—a self that is worthy, loved, and enough.
For me, that rediscovery was a process. It meant redefining success, embracing vulnerability, and acknowledging that my worth isn’t tied to my work. What I do now aligns with who I am at my core: someone passionate about helping others find health, purpose, and freedom in their encore years.
Your Journey Matters
If you’re in a season of waiting, know this: you are not lost. You are growing. The journey of rediscovery is not linear, but every step you take is shaping the person you are becoming. Trust the process. Be present. Celebrate the small wins. And remember, what you do is not who you are.
The life you’re meant to live is unfolding, and the wait will be worth it. As you embrace the timing and remain present, you’ll discover that joy and purpose were within you all along.
